FOSE-UK News: Summer 2026

I’m delighted to welcome Gyles Wren as the new Friends of Scouting in Europe (FOSE-UK) Team Lead within the UK International Team.

Friends of Scouting in Europe is about more than fundraising, it’s about investing in young people and strengthening Scouting across our continent. I’m delighted that Gyles has agreed to lead FOSE-UK and know he’ll bring enthusiasm, experience and fresh ideas to the role. Working alongside Anne and David, he’ll help grow our community of supporters, strengthen our relationship with the European Scout Foundation, and ensure even more young people can benefit from the opportunities Scouting creates.

Gyles brings a wealth of experience through his long-standing involvement in Scouting and a genuine passion for supporting young people through our international movement. I’m excited to see how he will build on the excellent work that has already been achieved and continue to grow FOSE’s presence across the UK.

As Gyles begins the role, he is working closely with Alan to ensure a smooth handover. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank Alan for his many years of dedication and passion for FOSE. As I said during our reception at Gilwell Reunion last year, Alan has been a true champion for FOSE. His dedication and passion have shaped FOSE in the UK, and we’re incredibly grateful for everything he has done. He leaves a strong foundation on which Gyles can now build.
