David Shelmerdine, Anne Whiteford and Alan Beavis warmly invite you and your partner to a reception for Friends of Scouting Europe – UK. Your
friends and those interested in joining and supporting the European Scout Foundation are also welcome.
The Chair of the European Scout Foundation, will be presenting new FOSE members with their membership certificates and pin. We have also invited the Director of European Scout Region David McKee, FOSE members from other countries, Members of the World Baden Powell Fellowship, Members of the Board of The Scout Association, and other guests.

We held a successful Reception attended by Henrik Söderman, Chair of the European Scout Foundation, assisted by Lars Kramm, Vice Chair of the European Scout Committee and David McKee, Director European Office of the World Organisation of Scout Movements together with other guest in the White House, Gilwell Park on Saturday 2 September 2017 during this year’s Gilwell Reunion.
Not only did we welcome our present members but those who joined following the March Reception and, more importantly, Scout Leaders from around the world who were in the UK and able to join us for the day. Thank you Anne Whiteford for handling the bookings for we appeared to have over40 present at the Noon Reception and apologise for the lack of space in the Betty Clay Library.
Following the interest at the lunch time reception we arranged for a further one to take place in what is known as the Programme Marquee in the Training Ground where we provided a stand to promote interest in FOSE and the work of the European Scout Foundation within the Team Internationals Activities had set up their promotion incorporating an International Departure Gate and at 15.00 hours we assembled to welcome further members to FOSE UK. As the afternoon progressed, and before Henrik left to return to Belgium, he recruited a further two Scouters! – They will receive their Membership Certificates and Pins at our next Reception in 2018.
Members of FOSE were also invited to join the Reception being organised for members the World Scout Foundation – Baden Powell Fellows and Gilwell Fellowship.
We were noticed by the fact that we were wearing our distinctive blue FOSE Tee Shirts which are available for members should they be attending appropriate functions and/or our FOSE polo/sweatshirts which will be available shortly.

Next Reception – we will be holding our next reception in Spring 2018 and then at the Gilwell Reunion is September. Watch this space for further details.
