Gilwell Reunion 2021
The timing for the virtual reception on Saturday 4th September 2021 has now changed to 11am (BST) from the previously published time.
We will be delivering an Interactive Workshop including presentations, break out groups, and a Q&A followed by an informal quiz and opportunity for Friends of Scouting in Europe to network.

FOSE Friends News
It was with deep regret we heard of the passing of Kevin Wallis after his long health battle that he shared with us on Facebook.
His memory we live on with us all due to his work in Eastern Europe, and we look forward to continuing his legacy.
We congratulate Anne Whiteford upon the award of the Bronze Wolf by WOSM and many of us were able to join her at the Zoom presentation in Scotland Scout HQ.
We also congratulate Stephen Peck upon his similar Award. Steve is not a FOSE friend but a friend to many of us.
The statue of Baden-Powell has now relocated from it’s perch in South Kensington to the spiritual home of Scouting at Gilwell Park (photo by Andrew Thorp).
Membership Renewal
We currently have 22 Life Friends and 31 Annual Renewal Friends.
We thank those annual friends who have renewed their subscription again this year and would ask those who have not to do so before the end of the European Scout Foundation year on 30th September 2021. On 10th July Prof Eric Frank would have been 100 years old.
His legacy founded The Eric Frank Trust which provided grants over the past 10 years to dozens of projects worldwide for the development of leadership skills in young people principally through the World Organisation of the Scout Movement.
We are particularly pleased to have helped to develop ways of measuring the social impact of the 54 million young people in the Scout Movement worldwide. The results are outstanding and fully support the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These are the leaders of tomorrow – and we need them as never before.

- Increasing the capacity of the Scout forest school – North Macedonia
- Local scout centre development – Szentendre – Hungary
